Policies & General Information

Your First Visit to Mystique

For your first visit to the Mystique Salon and Day Spa, you should arrive 10 minutes early to allow time to fill out a new customer profile so we can customize your services better. We would also like to have time to give you a personal tour of our facility so you will feel more comfortable. If you are receiving spa services you will need to fill out an intake form for each service.

Scheduling Appointments

We recommend that you take into consideration what you want from your visit at Mystique Salon and Day Spa. Please arrive on time for your appointment. We do understand that you might be late for an appointment; however, we request that you call us so we can adjust your appointments. If you are late it could lead us to shorten the length of the service, change the technician, or cancellation. The salon manager will make the final decision on what is best for all parties.

Spa Cancellation Policy

All spa services will need to be secured with a credit card or gift card. We know that there will be times you will have to cancel an appointment, so we ask that you give is 24 hours notice. A 25% service charge on individual services and 50% service charge on spa packages will be charged otherwise.

Payments, Discounts & Gratuity

Payments

All payments must be made in full at the time all services are completed. You will go to the main reception desk and they will request payment for your services. We accept all major credit cards, cash, and personal checks.

Gift Certificates

Mystique offers gift certificates for any occasion. gift certificates can be purchased as a package, individual service, or a specific dollar amount. Gift certificates will expire a year from the date of purchase.

Re-booking Appointment Discount

If you re-book your appointment prior to leaving the salon, you will receive a 10% discount on your next service. If you cancel, we will not be able to honor the discount.

Gratuity

Gratuity or tipping is suggested for all services performed in the salon and the spa. It is customary to tip your stylist or technician 15%. If you purchase a spa package, a 15% gratuity can be added to the package price for your convenience upon request. However, for individual services, it is up to you to pay gracility. For your convenience we provide tipping envelopes at the front desk and in the bathroom spa areas. You can turn this envelope into the front desk when you complete your services. If you would like to add gratuity and you are paying with a credit card, just write the amount and you can indicate which amount goes to each service provider.

Retail Refund Policy

We offer high quality professional salon and spa products for your personal use. Products can be returned within 10 days of purchase for an in-salon credit. If a product is customized or special ordered only 1/2 credit will be issued. No cash or charge refunds will be issued. Due to health regulations, we can not accept a return on hair or cosmetic brushes.

Reward & Referral Programs

First Time Customer

If you are a first time customer, you will receive a gift bag at the end of your service with some goodies that is a thank you for being our customer. We will Laos give you a $5 gift card to use on your next visit. We want to keep you as a customer at the Mystique Salon and Day Spa.

Customer Referral Program

If you refer a customer to Mystique, you will be mailed a $5 gift card to show our appreciation. You can pass along a stylist or technician's business card with your name on it or the customer can mention your name. Either way, if we are told that a current customer referred them, you will be mailed the gift card.

General Service Information

Hair and Color Services

Talk to your stylist prior to any service and be honest with what you expect out of your service. Please tell your stylist if you wash your hair with well water as this can cause negative results in a color or chemical service. We suggest that you get a hair detoxification treatment prior to any chemical or color service as this will help the color deposit on the hair more effectively.

Massages and Body Treatments

Prior to your appointment, you will be shown to the bathroom and locker facility. You can change into a bathrobe for your appointment. Acceptable attire during a massage would be to keep your undergarments on or choose to wear a bathing suit. For our male clients we suggest wearing gym shorts. Our technicians are very professional and our draping policy during this service will assure that your modesty is respected at all times. We also provide disposable undergarments if requested.

Facials

We request that you change into a bathrobe and facial wrap provided for you in the bathroom / locker room facility. A facial will consist of massaging your scalp, face, neck and the top of your chest.

Waxing

We have a variety of waxing services and each service may require a different need, but we provide disposable undergarments for these services. Prior to a service, your technician will provide your disposable wear needs. We do not suggest waxing if you are using Acutane or Retin A products.

Pedicures

To prevent your pants from getting wet during the service, we provide bathrobes to change into for your convenience or we suggest that you wear lose fitting pants that can be rolled up. After your service, we provide flip-flops to wear to allow your nail polish to dry or for you to wear in the salon.

Refreshments & Meals

Refreshments

Mystique Salon and Day Spa offers a variety of complimentary soft drinks, spa water, teas, coffee, cappuccino, wine, champagne, beer, and light fare. This service is offered to all salon and spa clients and you will be asked if you would like any of these items during your visit.

Lunch and prepared snacks

A special lunch and prepared snacks are available for spa packages only. The cost of these items have been included in the package price and will be prepared by an outside restaurant. If you have an special food needs while you are in the salon, please speak with the manager and we will try to accommodate your needs. Shower Facilities

 

Bathroom & Shower Room Facilities

Mystique has women's and men's bathroom/shower facilities available. Each has a changing area, showers, towels, bathrobes, and slippers. The spa provides shampoo, conditioner, bath gels, and lotions for your use. We also have a variety of grooming extras at the sink for your complimentary use. For all hair clients, the bathrooms have smocks provided for you to change into.

Children

To ensure that our customers have a relaxing environment, children are not permitted in the spa area. The spa is a quiet area and we have to respect the other clients receiving spa services. To ensure the safety of your child, they should be supervised by the parent at all times and never be left unattended or allowed to sit or play in empty styling chairs. We appreciate your understanding.

Cell Phone or Pagers

Cell phones and pagers are not permitted in the spa area to ensure the relaxation of our clients. We request that you turn off your cell phone during spa services.

Health & Sanitary Conditions

For your first spa appointment, we suggest that you arrive 15 minutes early to fill out a customer profile. We need you to be very honest with the questions asked in this profile. If you have the following health conditions, please follow these rules:

  • High blood pressure / heart condition - We recommend that you do not have a body wrap, steam, or detoxification service.
  • Allergic to iodine - We recommend that you do not have any treatment with seaweed,
  • Varicose veins - We recommend that you do not have a body scrub in the areas where you have varicose veins.
  • Pregnant women - We recommend that you avoid essential oils, detoxification, steam, body rapes, and hot showers where your temperature can be raised.

Refuse Services Policy

Nail services can not be completed if you have any type of nail fungus or nail irregularity. All nails will be inspected and if there are any nail irregularities, services will have to be denied due to safety and sanitary reasons. If you have a nail disorder, please make sure you let the management aware of this prior to your service date. If you book a facial or massage/body service, please make sure you do not have cuts, abrasions, lesions, blisters, sun burns, rashes, conjunctivitis, cold sores, fever blisters, or skin disorders. If you have any of the listed disorders, your facial or massage service can not be completed due to safety and sanitary reasons. If you have questions about facials or massage, please make sure you contact us. If services have to be denied for any of the listed nail or skin disorders and you booked a spa package, a refund will not be given.

If for any reason you are not happy with these services that you received, we suggest that you call and speak with our manager. We will take this opportunity to rectify the situation by fixing whatever you feel needs to be done. We will be fair and as accommodating as possible.
